Not sure if I like new app of scanning receipts

I frequent two different LaMadeleine's from time to time (one near work, one near home). I genuinely like the people who work there; you do a good job of hiring. The coffee is very good, and the food is nice, but more than that is the ambiance of the cafe; real chairs and tables, and fireplace is usualy going.

I'm using the new app and I'm not sure if I like it. The app requires for me either to 1) have a credit card (cc) attached to it or 2) scan my receipt into the app to get points. I just don't like my cc on file. I avoid this as much as I can. And scanning the receipt just seems like another unnecessary step.
