$65 for a headlight bulb install is ridiculous!

Friendly, low pressure, trustworthy

I have been a very satisfied frequent customer at another Big O in Des Moines area. Sales tactics at this location are too high pressure. When a customer does not want to fix something leave it at that. Still small issues after repair, for what I spent (and was pressured into upgrading to) that is frustrating.

They were very fast and friendly. Quick repair, I had a nail in my tire.

Went in for a wheel allinement and was told there was more wrong. Both front lower ball joints and right front outer tie rod end. I said go ahead with work. I got it back with a price of 998. I get going around 50 mph down the road and suddenly a bolt falls out and there is major clunking. I stop and saw that they forgot to tighten the nut on the left front outer tie rod end. I tighten it up on the side of the road and kept driving. Still clunking. Come to find out the didn't tighten the bolts on the brake caliper bracket. I limped it back to the shop after a phone call to this shop. I get it back and they get it in right away. They find a bolt that will work for the bracket and tighten up the tie rod. I kind of get an apology with a hand shake without any COMPENSATION!!. I have pictures of all of this too. On a side note. I painted my calipers orange and after this repair there is chips in the paint on both calipers that was worked on. I have changed my pads since I painted them and never chipped them. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!

I really have no complaints other than I'm not sure if they did the tire rotation when they did my oil change. I told them to do it but on my print off sheet it only states oil change. Also I was working with the guys on an estimate and they were to email me the estimate and I have yet to receive this....I have called several times and I leave messages for a call back, but haven't received. I'm not really upset but I only have a set amount of time that I can turn the estimate in and so I have went to 2 other shops and got their estimate since I never received it from you guys. I know times get busy and stuff gets out of wack. But feedback will make y'all realize where the improvement needs to be. I do thank y'all for the kind customer service you give to me Everytime I do come in!

I was told that I needed work done to my front end that I just had done 10 months before, when I took out my warranty papers I was told that they would honor my warranty after waiting almost another hour it was brought to my attention that no the manager would not do it because of to much paper work and I was then rushed out the door without them finishing my inspection. I then took my truck back to place that did the original work they told me that everything was fine except the part that big O did put on my truck was put on backwards. My vehicles carry precious cargo and I will never trust them again.

My daughter had a blown tire on I-35. I could not get the wheel off. They hooked me up with a tow truck and we got there a half hour before they closed. The guys stayed 1 hour past closing trying to get it fixed with nothing but smiles. I ended up buying 4 tires at a great price so I didn't have to worry about this again in the future.

The initial visit for my wife and I was fine. We left feeling good. Two days later, when the work was completed (four new tires installed) and my wife came to pick up the car, she was told that there was an $80 alignment charge. We were told, during the initial visit, that with a full set of tires, if an alignment was necessary, there would be no charge. I even went through line item by line item with the sales person and ask about a $79.99 figure. He said that is zeroed out and there will be no charge. The sales person's reasoning is an alignment "inspection" would be no charge, but that's not what he told us during the initial visit. Even if the charge was legitimate, I gave no authorization whatsoever to have him do that extra work. He needed to, at a minimum, call me before the work was performed to get approval. He did offer a $30 reduction in cost, but we still feel we are owed the $50 balance. We are struggling to bring it back for tire rotation because of this broken trust factor.

I was there a week ago or so with two nails in a screw in my tire they took care of my tire quickly and also replaced a swaybar link that was bad. They fixed me right up and got me back on the road.

Really enjoyed the experience and staff was very friendly, however after giving one of the guys my keys with my wallet attached to them I had $10 stollen. Very disappointing since I left thinking that I would start going here for all my car necessities.

Extremely unhappy with the work done to the 2007 Saturn Outlook done on 03/29/18. It is now a non running vehicle when it ran perfectly before that service. No tranmission fluid was in it, after the flushes performed that day. And there is an extensive oil leak.I came back for tires on a CRV on 04/26/18 and if I do continue to come back it will be on a tires only basis. And you have ants all over the entire coffee area and refrigerator. That's what that low rating was for. But overall not happy and will find a new company to do business with as the work done on 03/29/18 was not cheap by any means. Now I have to spend more to correct the damage that was done.

The staff at Big O are friendly and conscientious. They always greet us quickly and are pretty accurate in their estimates of how long things will take.

Dropped off vehicle in on March 2 for March 3 appointment. Had hit a curb during ice storm previous week and had asked that front end be looked at and alignment completed after any other needed repairs were done. Within 30 minutes received a call from Leland stating alignment was complete and I needed tires. Leland asked that I provide payment so he could get on daily books and I could come pick up after hours using my spare set of keys. When I picked up the vehicle after hours it had a new 'clunk' sound in front end as well as a grinding sound under breaking. Called immediately the next day and Leland admitted to not driving the vehicle after alignment and clearly didn't check for any other damages. Dropped the car back off and was told by Leland it would be top priority. After not hearing anything I called back at 4:30 Saturday. Car had not been touched...Leland stated they had been slammed and that he would have it ready for me on Monday. Called Monday at 4:30 and was told the Leland no longer works there. I spoke with Jay, updated him on what was going on. He inspected vehicle and informed that front passenger strut was bent (clunking noise) and that part of the break system had not been properly reattached after alignment (grinding noise). Jay stated he would fix and have vehicle ready for my on Tuesday. Called Tuesday 4:30 stating I would be passing by and inquiring if vehicle was ready. Jay asked "what time is it?" and stated yes, it would be ready when I got there. When I got there I waited another 30 minutes, and at this point it was closing time again. Paid bill and drove car home. Noises still existed AND now there was a piece of molding that was not attached flappiing from under the hood. When I got home and opened the hood I noticed the entire piece had been set in place but fasteners had not been re-installed from when the molding was removed to install struts (replaced both front struts and rear shocks). I further inspected the vehicle and noticed a large crease in drivers side door with fresh brown paint all long the crease of the door on my black vehicle. Yep, while sitting on the Big O lot for six days my vehicle received a large dent in the door. Returned at 7:00 AM on March 8 to show Jay the dent and molding that had not been re-installed and to discuss noises and fact that steering wheel was still off-center. Jay stated the noises were the struts settling and that he would do another alignment within 30 day after putting some miles on new struts. He also put in writing that he would order parts to re-attach the molding that had been left unattached and would line up dent and paint repair to come on-site when I brought vehcile back in. I was leaving town that day, so we scheduled an appointment for me to bring the vehicle back in on March 10. On the morning of March 10 I called and asked to speak with Jay to make sure he had parts needed and had scheduled on-site services as we discussed. I spoke with Galen who informed me that "We don't do any of that work here" and that Jay no longer worked at that particular store. I gave Galen an update on what had transpired and he asked that I go to the Acura dealership to get a quote on replacing the molding that had been left unattached and asked that I get two quotes from body shops on the door dent repair. Upon beginning that process I ultimately ended up trading vehicle in. I'm out the roughly $1,000 in repairs that I paid Big O for and took a hit on trade-in value based on the door dent and the noises the vehicle now makes that it did not make prior to taking it to Big O. I asked numerous times to speak to the owner and was denied contact information. Pretty sad when as customer accepts thousands of dollars in losses over doing any further business with you.

I always feel like there is a wait at BigO when I come in. Not because the service is slow or there is a long line - it just seems like the quality of service being given to the person before me in line is very high and they are doing their best to ensure that they get a product they want. Complimentary drinks are always available and I can usually watch anything I want on the TV. Service reps are helpful and informative. They are not degrading or pushy like at other places. Although mechanics can seem like outsiders sometimes, the ones at BigO seem to enjoy what they do, and it reflects on the company's business. I like that BigO has a walk-in policy and I am usually in and out within an hour. I definitely recommend BigO to friends and family for tires and tire service. Overall, BigO has nothing major to be worked on.

I came in for a flat repair - my front right tire on my 2012 honda accord was losing 1 psi every week. I was told the tire rim would be cleaned of debris and corrosion using a wire brush on the inside of the tire. Somehow a scratch along the edge of the wheel was on the wheel after the service along with black smudges. The equipment which the tire was mounted to and on which the tire spun somehow scratched (in a perfect circle) all around the tire. I brought the tire back to big-o as soon as I noticed the issue the next day. They were not able to polish out the scratches on the wheel (the scratches are close to where the tire meets the wheel on the face of the rim...). I now have a scratch rim (perfect circular scratch around 50% of the rim where the tire meets the wheel).
