I made an 11 a.m. appt. thru the website and received a confirmation. I arrived 5-10 minutes early and they stated that they didn't know anything about my appt. I showed them the confirmation e-mail and they stated they're very busy but they did take my car but it won't be done til the end of the day. My appt. was for an oil change and tire rotation. I received a call at 4 p.m. stating my car is ready. I guess my feelings are is that if they knew about my 11 a.m. appt maybe the work would have been done much earlier and not 5 hrs after. I'm not complaining about the people that works at the facility but the appt system they have on their website.

Great service, all my questions were answered in a friendly respectful manner.

Came in, made an appointment, then came for the appointment and was told that "I am not in the system". The techs argued amongst themselves whether I am in the system or not, but my car was not serviced anyway. I made another appointment for another day. Came in for the next appointment and they took the car and may have done the balancing, but I do not see any evidence that they have actually done it, because the shaking at 55MPH did not go away.

I had an emergency tire replacement, which took about 3 hours. My car was towed to your facility and the service rep up Front was courteous and polite and gave me an estimated wait time, which aligned with the actual completion time. Considering the circumstances the service was perfect . Thank you!

I had the tires on my 1999 S70 Volvo aligned on 1/23/2019. I was told that the tire wear was down to 2/32", and that I needed new tires. I had my doubts, based upon the fact that I only had 40,000 miles on my Michelin Defenders that are warranted for 80,000 miles. The rep told me, when I demurred regarding the purchase of new tires, that the replacement set would be free. I told her about the concept of pro-rating (she was unaware of the term). The following morning, I took my car to my mechanic, who informed me that the outside shoulder of the right front tire was at 2/32", and the rest of the surfaces were good. I realize that your staff gets a commission on the sale of these products, but I have been a customer of your store for a number of years, and would appreciate not getting the "hard sell" by your staff.

This is the third time I've used Big O Tires in San Mateo to work on my 2000 Corvette. This time was as excellent as the two prior times. In all three cases, the front office staff as well as the technicians, who worked on my car, were first class. Jason is a dedicated and professional manager, who is always honest and efficient in getting things done. As a customer, there isn't more I could ask for. Their prices are extremely competitive, which makes the experience all the better. The work was done well and on time. I can't recommend this shop and these folks more highly.

I had a flat tire and required somewhere very close in the area that I was not familiar with to repair it quickly. I googled tire repair and found that Big O tires in San Mateo was open so I decided to call. When I called, I gave the information regarding my vehicle for the quote. I was very disappointed when I was in need of an emergency repair estimate on Sunday and they told me over the phone my car required all four tires repaired at $95.00 each. I told the guy I never heard of such a thing that a car required all 4 tires to be replaced with new. I ended up driving on the donut and going elsewhere.

The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. They were able to fit me in at the end of the day at the last minute when I needed it most. The service was fast & efficient! Thanks for being amazing!

If I hadn't been carefully monitoring the service bill I would have gotten the wrong tires, charged twice for wheel alignment, and also overcharged for the entire service because they forgot to apply my deposit to the final bill.

needed low beam & back up lights replaced today. Jason, the store manager, scheduled the bulb replacement work expeditiously. The work was completed satisfactorily. His attention & professional courtesy made me feel like a preferred customer.

Flat tire. Went in at 2pm. The person who helped me and greeted me was friendly and humorous. I had to buy a tire and the guy kindly showed me which 3 options of brands and prices I had at my request. After deciding, I was told to pay for the tire and the labor cost; he didn't tell me that the protection/insurance plan costs money but put it in my bill already. I asked after I checked and then he explained. THAT'S A MINUS. Tell me beforehand so I can trust you. He said the process will be finished in 2 hours. After more than 2 hours, I didn't receive any call. I came back and was told that the alignment check couldn't be done today; I had to come back tomorrow. THAT'S ANOTHER MINUS. Why didn't you call me first? After the alignment test the next day, he showed me the result of the check. Apparently the tires were tilted and needed to be fixed. I had to pay extra $89.99 for it. THEN WHAT'S THE POINT OF BUYING PROTECTION PLAN?! I feel like I have wasted my money. In short, the store was clean. The clerk was friendly. The quality of the tire and service was great. The selling strategy is why I wouldn't recommend Big O Tires to my family or friends.

Cameron was awesome. He provided outstanding customer service on the phone, and in-person.

Normally I have good experience at this shop in San Mateo, not so much on my visit March 5 . Dropped in to have tire looked at, 2nd time by same shop, indicator on my dash showed a problem. 1st visit they said tire was low due to cold weather (strange only 1 tire low for that reason...), said no leak and just needed air. Shop filled my tire. A week later, same problem. This time they found a puncture. Gave me a time frame est of 2 hours to repair. At the 2 hour mark I returned to shop, they were just starting the repair. Asked why the delay, was told someone mistook my car for another one there and worked on the other car 1st. Total time in shop 3.5 hours. Good thing my schedule was flexible and that I got this puncture taken care of before my road trip the next day. Disappointed the one worker thought my ONE tire was low due to cold weather.

I visited this Big O location last week due to a nail in my tire. Upon arrival, they were very busy, but a tech was able to come and see the problem, explain it couldn't be patched, and order a replacement tire. They arranged for me to bring my car back over the weekend, so they could get me back in my car as soon as possible Monday. A technician called me to inform me there wasn't actually a nail in my tire and a new tire wasn't necessary. He wanted to hear all my concerns so that he could accurately diagnose the problem. I appreciated this immensely! I know I could have gone to another tire shops and they could have easily changed the tired and charged me for a new tire I didn't need. I have used Big O in another state for many years and I am so glad I have found another location here in California that I know will honestly help me. I absolutely will be going back! And my family members are very impressed with their honesty and customer service, that they want to bring their vehicles here, too.

This is the third time I've had to come back for the same issue, and it's been quite a time consumer. The second time this occurred the manager Jason really seemed sincere in his apology that the part had failed, but this time the rep choose to advise me that if the part failed again, I would be responsible for the labor cost. ONLY when I insisted that the part failure is a manufacturer issue and not my fault did he explain that the warranty would cover the part a year from when it was initially replaced. I felt that he was trying to use a scare tactic so should the part fail again within the year, I would think there would be no warranty and not return. IDK if it's because he saw a women, he thought he could double talk me about the repairs and warranty. The rep later noticed that one of the four tires that were replaced within the month had an issue, and recommended a replacement. I advised him that they were just purchased within the month, and the warranty was purchased as well. He advised that the labor would not be covered, which was OK, and that the tire was not in stock and making an appointment would be best. I requested the next earliest morning appointment, and he said he didn't see anything and that he wouldn't schedule past Wednesday(It was Sat) because he didn't want to get overbooked. Is it just me, or the point of making appointments, is to avoid being over booked and know who is coming in and for what service and designated times so you can plan accordingly. Once again, IDK if its because the work involves a warranty issue, or what, but I definitely left with a bad taste in my mouth for Big O. They're so quick to sell you on their warranties, but when it comes time to live up to one, they don't seem to want to. It's all of a sudden very inconvenient.

I've always received great service at Big-O. This visit I was serviced by Andy, who I don't feel the same level of competence I've had in the past. He is very nice and tries to accommodate, but I feel is lacking in terms of the high level of competence I've felt dealing with Jase, Jason or Sanjeev in the past. A couple of things I asked him about (broken visor clip, head lining coming off) he said that he did not have the ability to fix for me. Okay, I get it that you can't do everything. But when I asked him about a referral to a shop that does he said he had nothing for me. He told me that the oil change and alignment would take approximately 1.5 hours, but it ended up taking about 4 hours. I would not have stayed around if I knew it was going to be that long. Finally, when everything was done it took him no less than 20 minutes to type up my bill. He seemed to be doing it all by hand. He had to ask Jase several times for help. After waiting for 4 hours it was very frustrating to wait another 20 minutes for my bill. I'm not asking you to fire him, as he is a very nice guy, but I don't think that being on the front line dealing with customers is his specialty.

Car tire warning light came on unexpectedly. Since we have used your store in the past I called, and was able to get in right away. Ended up getting 4 new tires after technician explained why and showed me I needed them, with alignment. Very pleased with service. I have a high trust level with the Big O Tire stores.

We dropped off my egolf for tire rotation but was told later that they don't have technician available until the next day. We have to come by and pick up the car the next day, which is an inconvenience. After we got our car, we realized stuff in our trunk had been moved around. We are not sure why they need to access my trunk when rotating the tires.

Service and cost: I was so pleased when I got my oil changed... I needed new struts on my suv. I didn't feel pressure to buy anything and they took the time to show me the old ones and what the new ones would do and showed me safety concerns. I also had a broken sensor that my dealer never once offered to fix or replace and they did and my work was done efficiently. They gave me a truck to drive for a few hours. Overall Jason and his team are A+
