The rooms were ok, but the hotel farad a good deal

I know that a lot of it is because it was old and just outdated, but it had a very unclean feeling. The bathtub was rusting, the door didn't seal out the outdoor air completely, the towels were very rough. The overnight guy was nowhere to be found to check me in, even after ringing the bell twice. I had to knock on the office door to get his attention. Then he claimed my credit card was denied and took another card number, wrote it down and gave me my keys, but I looked at the online statement and the first card was charged and was not denied. The morning crew was much more friendly and knowledgeable and as far as I know, it's all cleared up now. I booked a room there because it was in a perfect halfway location for my long road trip, but I probably won't be staying there again on the way back or on any future trips. It was fine for a quick place to crash, but I couldn't help but feel kind of gross.
