The ladies were friendly bit disappointed that we booked from Priceline as they would have given us a better deal, but they placed us in a very dirty room with the air conditioner not working. The boxes or the mattresses were dirty, the carpet had iron burns, the bathroom door had a whole and the shampoo was not replaced. It was very filthy and that was number 234. We called and had our room changed but it was no better, but al least the a/c there was working. Breakfast could not be touchable

This Econo Lodge was absolutely horrible compared to other Econo Lodge and similar quality rating hotels. We were moving from Iowa to Florida with my family of 4 and 2 dogs. We needed to find a place to stop for the night that accepted dogs and had a place to park a 34' long moving truck. We tried Marriot, Hilton and Choice Hotel brands from Valdosta, GA to Ocala, FL and everything was full so we tried Econo Lodge and found this one in Alachua, FL. The person taking the reservation said there was a $10/dog and the room rate of $75.99 so $95.99 plus tax. I felt this was high priced for that level of hotel but it was our only choice and I have stayed in some very nice Econo Lodge in the past. When we arrived at almost 1am due to a traffic jam from a major accident that took us over an hour to get past, my wife went inside to check us in. The lady working at the desk was slow, had no personality, didn't smile, her speech was incoherant. She told my wife that the computer showed our room was already checked in and she would have to walk to the room and check to make sure nobody was in there. She came back she said it was ready and we checked in. We also asked where the "Semi Truck Parking" was and she said just park across the spaces out front. Good thing there was several spaces open as otherwise this would not have been possible. We walked into our room and at first it looked ok. There was an overwhelming odor of Cat urine in the room and it appeared that there was freshly laid new carpet in the room. I know this because there were several rolls of brand new carpet laying outside the hotel. There was a refrigerator that was dented and rusty, the brand new carpet had muddy footprints just inside the door. the beds were barely large enough to be considered full, far from queen size which is fairly standard now. The only redeeming quality was the lady working the morning shift who was pleasant and friendly.
