Dreams - Trowbridge

Price range poor. Guided towards more expensive mattresses and the less expensive/offer mattresses were just glossed over. Despite being told that we were not being hard sold to, "assistance" was always too close for comfort to the extent that I requested my wife and family to leave the store to consider our options to give us a bit of space. On return, we had decided on either a £299 firm mattress or a £699 very firm mattress. On asking about credit, we were told that no credit was available on the £299 mattress unless we topped it up to £500, but we could have 10 months credit on the £699 one. We declined the offer, as it was more than our planned budget [By the way, Bensons for Beds offer credit from £200 up, abeit for a shorter term, so any reason why Dreams can't either?]. As we were about to leave, suddenly a 20 month credit term was available! Strange that Dreams Store managers don't seem to know the finance terms. Again Bensons make it very clear on their website and in store the finance periods - Although 0% finance was shown in store, no details were displayed. All in all,we bought the mattress as we urgently needed one, but I came out feeling manipulated and "done over".

we were not expecting mattresses to be so expensive as we have had the previous one for approx 30 years. Your sales staff were very efficient and we bought on our first visit.

Paid extra for a 2 hour delivery slot, only to be told at the end of the transaction that I would not know when the 2 hour slot was until the morning of the delivery, so I still had to take time off work to receive the delivery.

Limited range of beds. Staff having chats amongst themselves.

It was not until after I left the store that I realised that my payments start before I have received the goods. I thought that this was against credit agreement policies.

Although the quality and selection was good, I felt it was over priced, and spending £573 on a childs single bed (although very good quality) seems expensive

I purchased a bed and asked if a discount was available. I was offered cheap pillows which I didn’t want. Meanwhile the purchasers next to me were offered a discount on the pillows they wanted - not the cheap fibre pillows I was offered. Pillows I wanted were not available and could not be ordered online. I was told paperwork would come through with the date of delivery I was advised for the bed. No paperwork with a date has arrived yet.
