Forgot a few pastries that we ordered and still got charged for them

Very very very very slow. Only 1 cashier that seemed new and no help. Ordering took forever. There were inaccuracies that took a long time to resolve.

Many of the tables were covered with used dishes/food crumbs from previous customers. It took over 30 minutes before some of the used dishes were removed. Made it hard to find seating. There were no soup spoons available for over 45 minutes. We had to wait until towards the end of the meal to get a spoon. Noticed that some other patrons had left and/or cancelled their order because it was taking too long check out/receive their orders. Overall not the best experience we have had at La Madeleine.

I ordered French dip, my go to choice at LM, which was normally very tasty from the meat to bread. This time the beef tasted salty, grocery store like cold cuts not fresh. The cheese was not melted and bread was not toasted very much. The French dip sauce was very cold and mediocre made. Hope the food is better next time around.

The portions were absurd. The chicken salad was supposed to be for 20 people we ran out within the first hour of the event. The pesto strips were in access. And the bruschetta was also so disproportionate. Would not recommend to anyone again.

Staff took orders out of line position, took 15 minutes to take my order when there was only one customer in line. 2 people just standing there, no organization, urgency or order prioritization

Overall, we love this cafe and keep coming back almost every week. However, this time the coffee was room temperature. Although brought to the attention of a worker, and she brought the coffee to the back, it was not returned before I ahd to leave the restaurant. Food was room temperature and it was supposed to be hot. It suggests to me that it was standing a long time after it was cooked waiting to be delivered. Delivery took over 20 minutes from the time the order was placed. In fairness, the cafe was unusually crowded compared to other visits. I had the impression that the restaurant was understaffed for the amount of customers. The staff seemed to work hard and was very pleasant. These problems seem to occur on approximately one out of four of our visits, which are almost weekly.

The spinach quiche had an off taste and not well done. Granddaughter didn't like tomato soup. Grilled cheese , corn chowder and salad were good. But too expensive for not all to be excellent.

The staff was friendly and the order was accurate, but the table was sticky and the food didnt feel very fresh especially, the potato gallette.My order cost almost $20. I expect some decent service for that money. 💰 I have been coming to La Madeleine for the last ten years, off and on, but I think the standards and freshness of the food has gone down.

I asked for my crepe without cheese, but that was not honored. The line was also extremely long since there was only one person at the register.
