The credit card readers on the pumps would seem to acknowledge the card and then immediately state that I had to pay through the attendant. I was on a 16 hour drive from Dallas, TX to east of Atlanta, GA. The hour was late and further delay due to not being able to pay at the pump (two trips to the cashier) merely made the trip even longer. The cashier was friendly and apologetic.
