Because if I pay for my gas at the pump I should be able to get my receipt at the pump. This is the convenience of paying at the pump. That convenience is broken if I have to lock my car and walk up to the window in the rain or cold to get a receipt that should have printed at the pump. There are no covers to shield you from the weather at the window of the Murphy gas stations.
