We took our daughter to the zoo for her first birthday. My parents, my father-in-law, and our best friends and their daughter came with us. It was a bit crowded for a Monday, but overall we had an enjoyable time. The San Diego Zoo is slightly frustrating because of the way it is set up. It's a hard zoo to navigate without missing something. A lot of walking. And we brought our wagon for the girls, which they wouldn't allow on the tram, which was frustrating, as well.

Most of the animals were hiding

I loved the whole thing but the tiger exhibit was closed and where they relocated it I didn't get to see the tiger I so longed to see. Boo.

Lots of construction going on right now, but it did not distract from animal attractions. We were unable to see the pandas due to the 45 minute wait (with 3 young kids). Liked the kangaroo bus, just wish there was a stop closer to park entrance/exit.

It was awesome to get to see the animals, but I also felt bad for them. It was sad to see them in an enclosed space not being able to explore or fly (for birds). I know that the animals are treated for and they are kept healthy; nevertheless, it still is sad to see them "lock" in cages. Over all it was amusing and cool to see the cute animals.

The experience was great. Was with two first-timers and they had a really good time. Wish more exhibits were open tho
