Usually a much better experience. Unfortunately, my hood was left open and nearly caused a wreck on 435. I'm not sure I will ever return.

It was easy and the associates were friendly.

Since receiving this email asking for a review, I've gone back and forth about filling it out. On the one hand, I don't want to sound like a grumpy, unappreciative customer. I recognize that people in the service industry are often mistreated, and I don't want to be just another yelling voice on the internet. On the other hand, the service at Big O Tires put me in bodily danger, and I wouldn't want that to happen to another customer, so I've decided to write a note. Please know that I'm telling you these things because of my concern for other consumers. I've never bought a set of brand new tires. I've always bought used because of the expense. However, I thought that it would be acceptable to buy some new ones at about 100 dollars per tire, so I decided to get some. I chose Big O because it was a place that friends had used before, and so I thought I could trust them. I was greeted when I walked in the door by a very friendly man. He was kind throughout this whole process, and he is the reason why I rated the customer service at a 5. He was able to get my car in that evening to get my tires changed, which was nice, as I had some vibration in my car and was worried about it. I was a bit worried at the fact that the service was nearly 200 dollars more than expected, but I needed tires and the gentleman helping me was very friendly. When I left the store, I immediately heard a scraping sound. Because I had never had new tires before, I thought that perhaps the tread just wore on the top of the car for a minute. However, when it did not subside, I called my stepfather to see what he thought. He said that it was not normal and that I should take it back in. However, Big O had closed for the evening, so I thought that I would bring it in the next day, even though I would have to go to work before bringing it back. When I went to work, I noticed that the scraping went away if I drove more than 40 miles per hour. This was nice, but it was getting worse when I would slow down or break. I also noticed that, when I would try to break, the car would pull to one side. It was scary getting to work that day because of the unknown scraping and the fact that it was pulling me. This is the bodily danger that I mentioned; I could have been in a wreck. When I got to work, a coworker looked and immediately saw that there was a large plastic guard that was dragging on the ground, creating the sound and the pull. I tried to tuck it up under another piece of the car so it wouldn't drag. Then, on my way home, it fell out and made the dragging and scraping worse. By this time, the piece was chewed up and irreparable. I called Big O on the way home, and the friendly worker answered. Upon answering, he noted that he knew about the large plastic guard that was hanging down and had not told me about it before I left. This was upsetting to me, as I was legitimately put into harm's way because an employee had not told me something that he had full knowledge of. I went back to Big O, and they removed the plastic piece. However, I was upset that, all in all, what happened was I lost a piece of my car and was put in an unsafe situation that an employee had full knowledge of. I was also not offered any rebate or refund, which I didn't like, as I paid a fairly large sum of money for these tires and this service. I do not think that I will return to Big O Tires once these tires wear out. I did purchase the insurance on them, and if they wear out before they should, I will absolutely go back, as it is the most cost effective option. However, the open neglect to let me know of a potential threat is something that lawsuits are made of. I am not that kind of person, but there are people out there who are. I was disappointed, and I would not recommend Big O to anyone that I cared about. I'm sure the employee will make the argument that I was gone before he could talk to me. However, customers give their phone numbers to the store before their cars are worked on. He cou

I really like this store. Employees are friendly, knowledgeable and never try to push me to buy anything. I had my tires rotated and they did an inspection for my 30,000 mile check. There was no charge.

Absolutely deplorable service from representative Devin. He was ignorant of mechanics regarding alignment and wheel service, in fact a technician had to answer questions for him, which illuminated his incompetence. Devin was disrespectful and lacked basic knowledge of the services provided by Big O tires. I have already filed a complaint with Corey the owner of Big O tires on 6th street in Lawrence KS. Corey was kind and attentive on the phone, eventually offering me a free oil change in an attempt to make things right. I respectfully denied the offer because i do not want to be confused with people who simply complain to get free stuff. I will under no circumstance return to Big O tires despite many years of exclusive business with the company. I intend to spread my discontent profusely in an effort to prevent anyone from sharing my terrible experience.

I was given an estimate of $587.27 after rebates. Turns out the "applicable" rebate was only $60 instead of the mentioned $170 in the estimate. There was no mentioning of restrictions in the quote nor at the store until payment was to be submitted. I ended up paying a whopping $919.50 for the tires + installation. This is not cool.

Very smooth from making the appointment online to picking up the vehicle after they called. Prices were up front and didn't have to call to get a full quote

I came in for the simplest possible tire job: patching a nail in the center of the tread of a tire that was already off the car. The technician proceeded to rip the bead of the tire trying to take it of the steel rim--a normal and (usually) unproblematic process. The salesman then tried to frame the issue as "not knowing how that happened" and tried to replace the tire with a different brand that did not match my new matched set. After a shouting match, I resolved the situation through a road hazard warranty at another shop and returned the new tire--a resolution that was actually better for the shop than what the salesman was arguing for in his shouting match. Pitiful execution of a tire repair, manipulative handling of the repercussions, and an unapologetic resolution of their own problem. Big O Tire is exactly that stereotypical sketchy auto garage that is constantly thinking customers are so ignorant they can tell them whatever they want to make money. This is precisely the reason I am a lifelong customer of the tire shop across the street from Big O--Big O basically is the worst.

This is the best shop! Our daughter goes to KU and we were visiting...got a flat tire on the way out of town. Made it to your shop at 3:15 on a Sunday and it was packed (probably because most places are closed). The team was fantastic! I'm sorry that I didn't get names to point out, but the gal at the desk and the service team were AMAZING! They stayed late to repair it to get us on our way home, despite the fact that the tire was under warranty so there was no charge. So great! Thank you all.

Total waste of my time to find out that the issue with my car was nothing serious to BigO. I took it else where and they found the issue. Big O pretty much took my money and showed me the door. I will never return to the Lawrence location or any Big O. I will not recommend this place to anybody. Waste of my Saturday morning.

took my car in a few days ago for an alignment, tire rotation and balance and on inspection the mechanic suggests that I get an upper ball joint fixed before proceeding with the alignment. After explaining to me what the problem was, he then proceeded to try and up sale me the alignment but explained that he would not be able to do the alignment fully but he could get it close enough to factory specs. He goes on to tell me that once I get the upper ball joint fixed I can bring it back and he will do another alignment. In addition to that, during the tire rotation they found a screw in the tire. The mechanic tells me that the screw was in a place that he would not be able to fix it and suggests that i need a new tire based on where the screw was located. Thankfully i didn't buy a new tire that I didn't need. Took my truck to the nearest tire shop and the guys fixed it in less than 10 mins. The gentleman that I was dealing with at the counter for some reason kept forgetting to add the %10 coupon i showed him. All around bad experience and will not be returning

Customers BEWARE since January of 2019 to May 31st.. I have now spent over $2500 here. May 18th I had my vehicle serviced for cooling cutting in-and-out.. Set it was my radiator that was cracked and had to replace it.. Costed me over $700, Literally a week later coolant was spilling out onto the ground and under my hood was smoking.. Call them up and they told me that it was under warranty.. I get a call the next day and they tell me the it was the water inlet hose and it was never messed with because it had nothing to do with the radiator and wasn't under warranty. Had my vehicle all week saying they couldn't find the part anywhere and had to order from a dealership which I later looked up myself that is running anywhere from 15 to $25. They were charging me $59 for the part. When under my hood and scene I could easily reach both ends of where the hose connects to but somehow took them over 3 hours to do. But my prior in voice it took them just little over 2 hours to replace a radiator.. Have been taking pictures of the whole process and plan to file a report with the BBB if I am not refunded for the latest invoice. These people lie to you to get out of their mistakes and over charge you and make things up to squeeze every dime... Absolutely ridiculous to be charged 106.00$ an hour for labor whether they complete a full hour or not.

I’ve been going there for years and several of the staff know me. Prices seem fair and I feel they are honest. Work is always done in a timely fashion. I always refer people there and they always sponsor our Boy Scout chili feed.
