I've been going to the Benicia location for about 2 years now and have been satisfied overall with the quality of work and turnaround time. But what has not been and continues to be unimpressive are the 2 managers (1 male, 1 female). They are rude, didn't even acknowledge me when I entered. On several occasions, when I approached the male manager, he acted like he was being inconvenienced. Thank goodness they have decent employees that work there who clearly have better customer service or I would not go back.

Kind of disappointed, as a long-time customer. I brought my car in the night before, so they could begin an oil change and tire rotation first thing in the morning. Early afternoon I got a call that they had done the requested work but noticed a slow leak in one tire (which they had fixed) and a bulge in the sidewall of another. I was also told that one of the rear shocks was blown, and they suggested replacing all four shocks & struts, plus alignment for around $1,200. I came over to the shop and spoke with the rep, who showed me the (pretty small) bulge in the tire. I know that can be trouble, so I agreed to replace both rear tires - including the one that had just had the leak fixed. I did question the need for the full shocks/struts replacement when only one shock was currently bad, but since the car has over 100k miles, I also agreed to do that. I was told it would be ready in a few hours. By 6:00 pm I had not heard anything so I called to check on the status & was told it should be ready by 6:45. I arrived at 6:50, and they were starting to wrap up for the day. While the rep was running my credit card for the $1,400 bill, I looked the car over and saw at once that the new tires had not been installed. The rep was surprised, but couldn't deny it, so they opened the bay back up & put on a pair. I had to assume they were the same ones the rep & I had earlier agreed on, and that I paid for, but couldn't be certain because it was too dark to look once they brought the car back out. Also, it was well past 7:00 and we all wanted to go home. While everyone was very courteous to me, and seemed to really want to help, I can't say I was impressed by the quality of service, and am not real sure I will be back, except maybe for any warranty service needed on the tires - which wasn't discussed with me at all either, but I'm pretty sure I purchased.

This is the third car we have gotten a new battery in and all from Big-O. They fit us into the queue and got it done faster than we asked for! These guys are great.

I was at work and sent my wife to get the oil changed in the car and tires rotated. I was astonished to find out she was charged $78 for the service. I am sure that everyone at Big O Tires is nice and professional, but that invoice does not sit right with me. I will have to find another vendor. Store cleanliness: The store is quite clean. I only rated "four stars" because the bridge sculptures that literally engulf each service work-station are atrocious. They are overbearing and creates an unwelcome barrier between the customer and service technician. Big O Tires (Benicia, CA) should get rid of them immediately. Quality of Service: I only rated "four stars" because I think the invoice was unreasonable for an oil change.

I made 2 appointments for my cars. The first appointment was was for an oil change only. It took 2 and 1/2 hours to complete. Why make an appointment? The second appointment was for an oil change, tire rotation and wheel alignment. This took 2 hours to complete. Satisfied with the second appointment time. I stayed for the first appointment and it took well over 1 and 1/2 hours before the car was even moved.

I at first had an unfavorable experience. I had an appointment and expressed that I'd be waiting for my oil to be changed. I walked off to kill the time and went to a local coffee shop. When I returned I found my vehicle had not moved. I waited patiently until nearly an hour and a half had passed and inquired about my car. I was told it would take more time than I had slotted for that day, and I asked for my keys back. I did my best to keep from reacting on the way out the door, but I had heavy stressors at the time and I was furious. Despite this I made it to my car before cutting lose. Having worked in customer service for years myself, I know people do not deserve to be treated the way I'm sure I would have had I stayed. After some time had passed, I called and attempted to reschedule my appointment for the following morning. I had purchased a groupon (largely the reason I decided to go back) at the suggestion of the receptionist, as it would save me about 40% when all was said and done. The woman was very receptive to my irritation and assisted me with top notch customer handling. I was told I would have a bay made available whenever I decided to come in so my oil change would be prompt with minimal downtime. She assured me that her manager was notified and I would be taken care of. I made arrangements to be there as soon as they opened for my servicing. I arrived three minutes prior to opening, however still found myself the forth customer in line. The first customer was called up to the desk, but when the second clerk on duty that day came out, he pulled a mechanic aside and instructed him to get the keys from the gentleman at the back of the line with the Subaru. The technician promptly got the keys from me and attempted to gather information about the car from me, but was met with some resistance and an off color comment which he handled graciously. The expectations outlined for me were satisfied and then some. My car was promptly serviced and the additional fees outside of the groupon (extra quarts, disposal, and tax) were waved for customer satisfaction without having to ask for any sort of compensation for my wasted time. After I cleared the air with the mechanic; he, the clerk, and myself discussed the condition of my car and provided me with some helpful insight regarding my braking system. A little patience and some customer service foresight go a long way. When I have a little more time, I'll be returning to discuss upgrading my brakes and rotors. The only reason there are threes is because of my initial experience/ impression. I look forward to providing higher scoring reviews in the future as I develope a business relationship associated to the well being of my vehicle. Thanks guys!!

I been coming here for a long time... sometimes I get someone that does half ass job on my cat like this time for example they never reset my maintenance light, didn't put a reminder sticker on my window, didn't fill up washer fluid, and there is barely any oil in my car that was refilled. After my car was being serviced for an hour they call me saying they couldn't get the oil filter off that it needed to be replaced. When my ride picked me up the guy was already inspecting my car then an hour later I get a call about my oil filter why would they take so long to call me about that. I am just really upset with a service I got this round.

I purchased 4 new 80,000 mile tires, alignment package and oil change. Zac received my car and he was very thorough and provided a great experience. Thank you Zac. When I picked up my car I was simply handed a receipt after processing my payment with the verbal comment that the last page showed estimates for the additional services recommended. I had not seen my vehicle in the lot so I asked where it was so he looked at the notes and told me it was on the street in front of the business next door. I was somewhat surprised by the impersonal hand-off. I walked to my car and looked at the new tires. I was somewhat surprised they had not even cleaned the rims as I have never purchased tires from a business that did not go that extra mile to make the new tires shine. Overall, I guess they did the work bare minimum and completed the job with no real care or interest. Somewhat disappointing. I'm going to get those recommended front brakes and rotors from another business who might be interested in making me feel they care about my business.

My truck's engine suffered a catastrophic failure. It was replaced twice. The first replacement engine failed because the vendor neglected to inform Big O that they had to use a new intake. When they used the original one on the first replacement engine, this is what cause that engine to fail again. This was a lack of Product knowledge and expertise on behalf of Big O. So they scored low on that one. It also cost me $300 more than I was originally quoted. Not happy about that! The customer service area was clean. But I was taken into the back service bays to see my old engine when finished and it seemed overly messy to me. I thought that area could have been cleaner. Big O Kept my truck for more than two weeks for a job that should've taken less than a week and I was never contacted about these delays. So I had to call in myself to find out. They scored below average on that one. Right now my truck runs well. But The jury is out still on the overall quality of this repair since its only been a few days.

All I know is Zach at the Benicia store is the best! I tell everyone to go to him he breaks everything down and tells you the best recommendation for your car and makes you feel at home with his service.

I had a set of new Goodyear tires installed on our 2005 Toyota Prius two weeks ago. Since then - the car's steering is off. When I drive on a straight road and position the steering wheel straight up and down - the car pulls to the right. I'm constantly steering the car to the left to correct the problem. I took the car back to Big O Benicia yesterday and had it checked - but the same problem persists. Before the tire replacement - the car drove fine. I plan to go back to Big O Benicia this Monday early so that I can wait to get this problem solved. I'm willing to drive the car with the technician to alleviate the problem. As it is know - the car is not driving as it should - on the new tires. I wanted to complement Lyla who was courteous, warm, and thoughtful. I have some other comments about my daughter's recent experience with some of your services - but I will discuss this with you in person. I have been a Big O Benicia-Vallejo customer since 1988.
