New tires. What's not to like? You want the review or not?
By Micheal | 9/6/2019
I paid almost 500.00 for a set of tires, I've bought tires from other places and have never had to pay for balancing after. I am a bit annoyed that I was told I would have to pay 10.50 per tire to have them balanced

Overall I liked the service, only had an oil change, but they seem professional

I called the Big O store on Crismon to inquire about two front tires for my motorhome. I was quoted a good price on two Sailun 19.5" tires. I arranged to have them installed at 9:30 on April 16. I got there at the appointed time, the tires were installed and I left. I got the motorhome up to 55mph and it vas vibrating badly. I went back and told them of the problem. I was then told that they did not have the right equipment to balance them so they had put balancing beads in the tires. The tires had to warm up before the beads would do their balancing of the tires. I was also told that every time I drove the motorhome it would vibrate for the first 15 - 20 minutes. EVERY TIME!! This was shocking to me and totally unacceptable. Nothing was said of this before the tires were installed. I told them this was unacceptable and the beads had to be removed and the tires properly balanced. They called the Big O store on Power Road and they said I could bring the motorhome there and they would balance the tires and remove the beads. I drove to the store on Power, they had me park the motorhome and told me I had to wait until they could get at it. After 45 minutes they came to me and said they could not balance the tires there because they did not have the right equipment either. They told me I could take the motorhome to Robert's Tires down Power by the 202. I asked if it was set up to go there and they said that was between me and Robert's. I again said that was unacceptable, call the Crismon store and have them set it up as I would not be paying for it. They made some calls and it was set up with Roberts. I went there and they removed the beads and balanced the tires. I took it for a test drive and although it was a lot better there was still a vibration between 55 and 60mph. I went back to the store on Crismon and told them the problem. They said I probably got a bad tire and they could put on a different brand for a difference of another $800 plus. They did not have any in stock and after they were installed I would have to go back to Roberts, have the tires removed, balanced and re-installed. After a discussion we agreed that I would get my tires somewhere else, where they could install and balance what they sold. I got a set of tires installed at Robert's tires and returned the bad tires to Big O on Crismon where they gave me a full refund. It has been 24 hrs and I have not seen the credit on my card yet. So what was supposed to be an hour and a half tire change turned into a 7 hour day of driving, frustration and grief. Why? Because when I was getting the quote for tires and arranging the time to install them I was not told that they could not balance the tires and had to use balancing beads. Making the sale was more important than giving the customer the information they needed to make a good purchasing decision. That is not customer service and is in direct contradiction to the signage you have in the store about honesty. How can a tire store not be able to balance any tire it sells? That is unbelievable. Even though this will probably be deleted or answered with the "apology form letter" I appreciate the opportunity to vent some of my frustrations. P.S. I did get a pair of Toyo tires at Robert's. They had them in stock, balanced them, installed them, I was out the door in 1.5 hours and the motorhome drives like a dream.

I was disappointed when I asked to have the wiper blades replaced and was told that I had not purchased the lifetime replacement package. I'm sure I did (but I can't find a receipt) and they have replaced them in the past at no charge and with no questions asked.

It was good as always but you pay a premium for it. I am coming to accept that. I continue to have trouble with next service sticker ion my wind shield. It is never right. This time I complained and the manager ended up writing it out by hand. $518 and the simplest thing doesn't work.

I went in for an Oil change but they found I needed new tires and struts and shocks. Because the cost was so high he gave me an oil change for the VIP rate which was greatly appreciated. He tried to get me the credit card so I could pay it off over a year but for some reason I did not qualify. They said it would be done by 2 but then the parts people sent the wrong parts. They said they would call when it was done but they forgot to call and it was close to close time and the man on the phone called and asked if we were picking it up tonight. I said I did not know it was done so we hurried over and got there before they closed.

My experience was very good as it has been thus far, I am hoping to build a long term service team at Big O. Let see how it shakes out going forward. Thank you, Jeff
