Akron Zoo

We love the Akron Zoo. It's close to home & a nice activity to do with the family! We are Akron zoo members.

They don't have a polar bear or elephants, whoever does these polls should research these things before asking questions on here.

I did our first class this evening with my daughter I think the class was great I just don't feel the price was worth it. $16 for one hour just to walk around the zoo seems outrageous to me. My sister lives in Toledo and they have stroller Safari classes that are eight weeks long one time a week for a little more than $20 a much better value I think the zoo overall is great I just won't participate in the extra classes.

Expensive

Not enough animals at all. We have annual passes and I got bored after 2 visits. My 2 year old loves it though. Loved the Halloween decorations.

Cold, so not a lot to see

We visited for the penguin palooza which was advertised as feeding penguins, penguin crafts and hot coco. There were no specific hours listed as the zoo is only open for 5 hours but when we arrived at 2 there were no longer any of the events going on and the staff didn't seem to know what was happening when. I understand why they weren't feeding them anymore for the safety of the Penguins but on the first day of the event you would have thought they would have clarified if the events would only be for a short time.
