Shari's

Three of us, two ordered the honored sirloin and were okay; I ordered sirloin dinner but got the "honored meal;" overcooked and rice pilaf had been on a warming table so long it was dry, tasteless and along with the steak an unpleasant meal. Did not contact our waitstaff as she was going off shift - as she explained - as was cleaning and not available. This was a Veterans Day lunch with my wife's brother from the local Vet Home. Usually lunches at Shari's with him are tasty and good value.

The food was drenched in cooking oil. The bacon wasn't cooked all the way and was cold and oily. The toast was cold. I put a napkin on the stuffed hash browns and it was soaked with oil. I now have a stomach ache and diarrhea. Not happy

I ordered the Fish & Chips. I got 3 VERY small pieces of fish. without bread, one piece was about 1.5 inch X 1 inch, long and 1/4 inch thick, the second piece was about 1.5 inches X 2 inches by 1/4 inch thick, the 3 piece was all of 2 inches X 2.5 inches by 1/4 inch thick. Not even a single fillet if you put all the pieces together. My sister's steak salad was at least 1/3 smaller than any we have gotten previously at the same restaurant. My 5 yr old great niece loved her grilled cheese sandwich and ate my fries. My mother is allergic to any fish, she wanted a meal with fries but because all fried food is fried in the same oil couldn't have even fries. She did enjoy the pot roast meal though.

I was refused my senior discount and was only told that they were sorry about the very long human hair in my meal. i got the feeling that the person who checked us out did not give A "fig, about the fact that I would be thinki ng about hair in my mouth the rest of the day and again this morning. i told the clerk I thought the people that handle food should have hair nets.

My English muffin was burnt, my ham had black burnt areas, then replaced with one that was warm not browned, my egg whites were runny, my friends bacon was burnt. The waitress was very nice, and the potatoes were great.

Takes too long to added to be wait list, once seated took 20 minutes to get drinks ordered - restaurant was relatively quiet. At the cashiers $5 reward was not offered, when i asked for it to be added was told it was too late, card was swept, and to ask next time. Also should have been a random reward from a shari's email but was not told or offered this. Food was actually really good but the customer service needs to be much better, especially the greeter and the cashier.

I asked for a spinach side salad without bacon as the salad included with my meal. It came with (not before) my meal and was presented as a bowl of spinach and two halves of hard boiled egg. I told the server it usually came with tomato, onion and toasted almond. She said she had never served one and didn't know how to top it. I suggested she check the recipe for the salad. She did bring me the almonds and the tomatoes. My husband ordered a Denver Omelette. What came was a Ham & Cheese Omelette. There was a container of Smuckers grape jelly instead of the usual wonderful homemade jam. My husband did not want to bother sending the omelette back, ham and cheese was fine enough. We were finally able to get her attention for another flavor of jam and received mixed fruit. We asked if there was any of the homemade berry jam, she said no. When we cashed out, I looked at the ticket, curious if the kitchen had messed up the omelette order. She asked if it was right, and my husband said he had asked for a Denver Omelette. She took out a menu and said "the Denver has Ham & Cheese. I can't pick a Denver on the POS system, it doesn't match the menu" I guess you need a new POS.

counting the tip I paid $20 for four little pan cakes and a cup of coffee, I feel that I was ripped off! Should have walked out.

After we were seated it was 20 minutes before a server came by. She took our order and drinks took forever. As I said before, the onion rings were dropped on the table and the person serving them left quickly. They were dark brown, stuck together and looked horrible, they never should have left the kitchen. Drinks were not refilled and service was non-existent. The server went on break, didn't say anything and didn't drop our check before she went. We sat there for 10 minutes looking for here before we went to the front to try to pay without the check. The server was outside at the front of the restaurant when we left.

I ordered the Beef Stroganoff, when it arrived the meat was extremely thin and burned and crispy on one side. Beef Stroganoff should be slow cooked and not fried on a grill. I questioned the waitress about the unpleasant appearance and the burned beef, she said "That's they way they do it here, they grill it and slice it on the grill." I ate everything but the shoe leather meat. It certainly was not worth $13.49. Needless to say as a long time Shari's customer (more than 17 years) I was not a happy customer.
