Movie tickets are very reasonable but the concessions are way to expensive

My son took me to see Avengers: Age of Ultron, and we had a great time. I had a SurveyMini coupon for a free small popcorn but the coupon code didn't work, so I wasn't happy about that. The concessions employee just shrugged and apologized, but I thought he could have done more to try to honor the coupon, since it would have saved my son over $5. If he couldn't do anything himself, he could have offered to call a manager.
