Today 12/27 the fried chicken had a weird smell and taste. Like ammonia... Everything else was delicious as usual. We were also devastated that the $1.99 to go boxes are no longer available. :-(

GC is our Sunday ritual, but The Colony location has the best food out of all of them IMHO. However our biggest gripe with The Colony location are the bathrooms. They need a major overhaul. They are a combination of 2 bad things you don't want in a restroom - dark and dirty. There are gas stations with cleaner washrooms.

Food is just ok. Variety never changes. Need some new items in the buffet.

We choose Golden corral, because we are on low-carb diets and we can eat lots of meats. However I'm reluctant to go there every single time due to the unsupervised children at the food serving bars. Last night was no exception, this Golden corral was off of 121 in the colony, and a child picked up a marshmallow stuck it on the skewer it fell off onto the floor and he put it in the food bucket holding the fresh marshmallows. Other children were at the bar constantly without supervision licking their fingers and then grabbing the tongs to serve themselves and other people were touching it afterwards. I realize it's not Golden corral's responsibility to supervise kids, but parents are going to, so if you want more patrons, Golden corral is going to have to. The other thing was the salad end of the restaurant had a strong hospital type smell to it maybe it was because the bathrooms had a horrible smell to them. I am not looking forward to go to another Golden corral unless I have to
