I felt as though we were led to the most expensive mattresses first and I wasn't asked what my price range or budget was

I had to make a second visit to the store as the mattress sold was not suitable for my existing bed base. Although the assistant was helpful and pleasant I was not questioned about my existing base by the assistant who sold me the mattress. I discovered the unsuitability by reading the product information once I was home. I had to then purchase a base The second assistant who sold me the base on the following day was very helpful and knowledgeable and stated he would inform the first assistant if the need to ensure that the base is suitable when dealing with other customers. I also noticed when trying the beds on the first day, that the pillow I was offered during the process seemed grubby/ not as clean as I could wish. The paper cover I was given to place on the mattress to lie on was not long enough and I felt a little vulnerable.

The sales lady clearly had a specific order in which to show the suggested products. She knew we wouldn't buy a certain manufacturer's product but showed one anyway. Her technique (I blame the company procedure, not her) was designed to goad, rather than show.
