As a Florida native I have been to both Howl O Scream and Halloween Horror Nights. I prefer Howl O Scream every year. Won't waste any more of my money at HHN! It's not that I dislike the park (I have annual passes to all three parks BG, IoA and UniS) but the Halloween events are ALWAYS better at Howl O Scream!
